Cigarette casket
Selected because it is such a wonderfully bizarre object and we would like to find out more about its manufacturer, Cromwells Ltd of Dudley Port.
Case number - PHSL : 147
A casket with a hinged rectangular lid, four integral feet and intricate moulded decoration. It is most likely that this compression moulded phenol formaldehyde box was designed for storing cigarettes in the 1930s or 1940s.

Case notes
Cigarette casket: Case PHSL : 147
We think this was for storing cigarettes but it looks a bit like a casket for ashes. We want to know who designed it and when. We would also like to know more about the manufacturer, Cromwells.
